This drill also has Husqvarna’s Softstart feature, which uses an electronic current limiter to start the drill slowly when the trigger is pulled, and then increase the speed two seconds later. This ensures clean and accurate core drilling and helps to protect the drill from overloading. The DM 340 diamond core drill also has ‘Elgard’ - a feature that causes the drill to pulsate in order to alert the operator when it is becoming overloaded. If the load is not then reduced, the drill will shut off in order to protect itself.
